In the DEL the teams usually use dark colors for their home jerseys and bright colors for their road jerseys. The alternate jersey does not have any specifications. They are very different from team to team or season to seasons. As it is typical for Germany there are a lots of difficult restrictions which are hard to find and understand.
The jerseys in the DEL are shaped by tons of ads. The teams depend on a good sponsorship which mostly shows up on the jerseys. Also - maybe because of changing sponsors - the jerseys have a new design every year. This is sometimes very hard for those fans who always want to have the jersey fitting to the players on the ice.
The quality is very different from team to team. Many manufacturers produce all kinds of jerseys. Sometimes the jerseys reach nearly NHL-quality, but this is very rare. Mostly the game jerseys are only a bit better than the "normal" fan jersey which are very bad regarding the quality. But I heard that the players love the lower quality because the jersey are much lighter ;-)
